- Michael C. Ruettgers
Mike Ruettgers is Retired Chairman of the EMC Board of Directors. During his tenure as Chairman, which began January 1, 2004 and served until December 31, 2005, Ruettgers led all facets of EMC's proactive corporate governance, with a special focus on shaping the composition and expertise of EMC's independent and fully engaged Board. Prior to that, he served as Executive Chairman of EMC's Board for three years and completed his tenure in that position in December 2003.
Ruettgers joined EMC in 1988, and served as CEO from 1992 until January 2001, leading the company in a decade-long trajectory of accelerating profitable growth. From his arrival through year-end 2000, EMC's revenues grew from $120 million to nearly $9 billion. During his term as CEO, Ruettgers was named one of the "World's Top 25 Executives" by BusinessWeek.
Ruettgers spent much of his early career with Raytheon, where he played a key role in the Patriot Missile Program. He is the Lead Director on the Board of Directors of the Raytheon Company and is also Chairman of the Board of Wolfson Microelectronics, a global leader in the supply of high- performance, mixed signal chips for the digital consumer market. Mr. Ruettgers sits on the Board of Orvis and Lahey Clinic. Ruettgers holds a BS from Idaho State University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
- Peter Bell
Peter is a General Partner at Highland specializing in technology investments across all stages of company growth. As an industry veteran, Peter has worked with and invested in companies in the information security, e-commerce, data center infrastructure, enterprise software and communications industries. Peter represents Highland on the boards of Desktone, ExaGrid Systems, Gigamon, InXpo, RentJuice, SCVNGR, Virtual Computer, VMTurbo, WePay, and is actively involved with Highland's investments in NetentSec and RethinkDB. He is a former board member of Ocarina Networks (acquired by Dell).
Before joining Highland Capital Partners, Peter was Managing Director and founder of Stowe Capital, LLC, which specialized in providing capital and management expertise to emerging growth companies.
Prior to establishing Stowe Capital in 2002, Peter was the co-founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of StorageNetworks, an information storage software and services company. Under his leadership, Peter took the company from pioneering concept to over $120 million in annual revenue in three years and closed six rounds of equity capital financing, totaling over $700 million, including a successful IPO in June 2000.
Peter began his career at EMC Corporation. During his tenure he held positions in marketing, operations and sales and played a key role in building and managing the Open Storage Group at EMC, a major growth engine for the company.
Peter currently serves on the board of directors of Healthbase and Prospectiv. He is also on the board of advisors of Personeta.

Interests Peter lives in the Bay Area with his wife and three boys. He is a member of the Board of Trustees at Boston College. - Tom Gallatin
Tom Gallatin has over 20 years’ experience in high-tech Product Management, Sales and Marketing. Prior to founding Gigamon, Tom held leadership and executive positions at several Silicon Valley companies including Hewlett Packard, Tandem, Intel, Sytek/Hughes LAN Systems, Shomiti and Finisar. Mr. Gallatin has a wide range of commercial and business experience including definition of product road maps, designing go-to-market plans for both startup and mid-sized organization, building and leading Sales & Marketing organizations, and complete life cycle management of concept to revenue for solutions and technologies. Tom holds a B.S. in Engineering from the San Jose State University and an MBA from Santa Clara University graduate school.
King Won
King WonKing has spent more than 25 years in networking product and standards development. Before Gigamon, King spent 8 years at Sniffer Technologies/Network General as an engineering director, working with highly motivated and talented teams in architecting, developing and delivering successful products including Gigabit Ethernet Sniffers, ATM Sniffers, and high performance forensic network data recorders. Previously King was in product development at Sytek/Hughes LAN Systems working with Cable/RF LAN and bridging/switching products. King also worked many years at Intel, including its LAN division as well as its internal magnetic bubble memory startup. King holds several patents in networking and a BSEE degree from UC Davis.
Patrick Leong
Patrick is the key designer of a series of successful telecom and network analyzer products that have generated substantial revenues over the years. Prior to joining Gigamon, he was a Principal Engineer at Ciena (starting with Cyras before it was acquired), where he lead the engineering efforts in developing the company’s metro data products. Patrick also performed technical due diligence for Ciena in acquisition and partnering. Before Ciena, Patrick was the Manager of High Speed Products at the Sniffer Division of Network Associates, where he was in charge of the development of WAN and Gigabit Ethernet Sniffers. A physicist by training, Patrick understands a broad range of technologies and has a track record of taking products from inception to market in a timely manner. Patrick holds a Ph.D. in Applied Physics from Columbia University and has more then 10 patents in his name.
Thomas Cheung
Thomas has over 15 years research, design and engineering experience across a broad cross section of the Telecom and Networking industry. Thomas was the principle hardware designer for a successful venture backed networking startup, Cyras, which was acquired by Ciena in late-2000 for $2.6 Billion. While at Ciena, he led the hardware architecture and development of many successful telecommunication and data network subsystem products including an Ethernet Transport LAN Services Module, a Low Speed Add-Drop Module and a Gigabit Ethernet Bridging Module. Thomas has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from San Jose State University, supplemented by certification in Business for Technical Managers, Strategic Project Management, Creating Excellence in Workplace, and Leadership Styles from UCLA.
